APSC JE Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 53 Junior Engineer Posts

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has officially released the recruitment notification (Advt. No. 03/2026) dated 5th May 2026 for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) under the Public Works (Building & NH) Department. A total of 53 vacancies are to be filled through direct recruitment. Eligible candidates holding a 3-year regular Diploma in Electrical Engineering from an AICTE-recognised institute can apply online at www.apscrecruitment.in.

What is APSC JE Eligibility 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidate must possess a 3-year Diploma specifically in Electrical Engineering from an institute recognized by AICTE.
The diploma course must be a Regular course. Diplomas obtained through Distance Mode of education, by whatever name called, will not be considered.
Upload all semester/year mark sheets reflecting the subjects studied and the final pass certificate.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age. The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved category candidates as per the table below.

What is APSC JE Application Fee?

The application fee for APSC JE Recruitment 2026 varies by category. All fees are processed via CSC-SPV, a MeitY-approved organisation, which charges an additional processing fee of Rs. 47.20/- from each candidate.

General- Rs. 297.20 (Application fee Rs. 250 + Processing fee Rs. 47.20)
OBC- Rs. 197.20 (Application fee Rs. 150 + Processing fee Rs. 47.20)

APSC JE Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the Assam Junior Engineer is divided into three stages: Written Exam, Interview Test and Document Verification. Candidates firstly have to appear for the written test, and if they qualify for the test, they proceed to the next stage. After the final stage, which is document verification, the selected candidate will join as a Junior Engineer in Assam.

APSC JE Exam Pattern 2026

The Assam Junior Engineer written exam consists of 2 papers: 1. Civil Engineering and 2. General Studies & General English. Both papers will carry 100 multiple-choice questions, and candidates have 2 hours for each paper to complete. Candidates will get 1 mark for every right answer and a deduction of 0.25 mark with every wrong answer.

APSC JE Salary Structure 2026

The selected candidates for the position of Junior Engineer will get a basic salary of Rs. 35,400 per month with a grade pay of Rs. 8700, and the Assam Public Service Commission offers a pay scale of Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 70,000 to selected candidates. Apart from salary, selected candidates get other benefits such as Dearness allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Transport Allowance. Also, there are some mandatory deductions like NPS and Tax deductions.
