The Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has released a short notification announcing a total of 5989 vacancies for Nursing Officer (Group 3) posts for all 30 district establishments under the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Odisha.

Odisha Nursing Officer Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates willing to apply for the Nursing Officer posts must fulfill the required eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification, age limit, and language requirements prescribed by the commission.

Educational Qualification

• Have passed 10+2 or its equivalent.
• Possess a GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) Diploma or B.Sc. Nursing degree from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
• Hold a valid registration certificate from the Odisha Nursing Council or any State Nursing Council recognized by the Nursing Council of India.
• Have passed Class 7 or above with Odia as a language subject.

Age Limit

To be eligible to apply for the post of Nursing Officer, candidates must have a minimum age of 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 38 years. The age relaxation in the upper age limit will also be provided for the reserved category candidates as per government rules.

OSSSC Nursing Officer Selection Process 2026

The eligible candidates who will be applying for the post of Nursing Officer have to go through a two-stage selection process that will include a written examination and document verification. The final merit list will be prepared based on candidates’ performance in the written examination, followed by verification of original documents.
