SSC CGL 2024 Notification Date Out, Apply Online Starts from 11 June

Lakhs of students who graduated and thousands of those who failed to qualify for the CGL exam last year are now eagerly waiting for the release of the SSC CGL Notification 2024 pdf. Every year, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts a highly competitive exam called ‘Combined Graduate Level (CGL)’ that provides access to various prestigious government jobs with attractive salaries and benefits. This year, as well, the SSC will release the complete notification pdf on their official website www.ssc.gov.in, which will contain all the necessary information related to the recruitment process, eligibility criteria, age limit, selection process, updated exam pattern, and more.

SSC CGL Notification 2024

With the release of the SSC Calendar 2024, it has been already notified that the SSC CGL 2024 Notification PDF will tentatively be released on 11th June 2024 at www.ssc.gov.in. For candidates who are graduates and looking for a well-settled government job in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and its Subordinate Offices, then SSC CGL is the exam to appear for. From past 2 years, SSC has changed the selection process and now only two tier exams will be conducted to shortlist candidates for various Group B and C posts released under SSC CGL Notification 2024.

What is included in SSC CGL Notification 2024?

The commission will be releasing SSC CGL Notification 2024 online in PDF format which will include all the necessary information regarding the exam. To be precise, the following details are to be shared by the officials through the notification pdf:

Important Dates

Along with the notification release date, the schedule for the online registration process and tier 1 exam month are also notified. The candidates holding the required eligibility criteria and falling in the age group to apply for SSC CGL 2024 Exam, have to submit their applications online from 11th June to 10th July 2024.

SSC CGL Vacancy 2024

Last year, 8415 vacancies were released for Group B and C posts and previous to that 37,409 vacancies were released which was the maximum of the last 7 years. Candidates can check the year-wise vacancy comparison from 2017 to 2024.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL Exam 2024

Not everyone can appear in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has set parameters for minimum eligibility criteria including education qualifications, age limit, and nationality. As per the last year’s notification, the eligibility criteria is as follows-

1. Education Qualification

• For Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University and CA/CS/MBA/Cost &  Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/ Masters in Business Studies.
• For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
  or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
• For Statistical Investigator Grade-II- Graduation Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
• For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum one year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
• For Remaining posts- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

2. Age Limit- 18 to 32 years. Candidates can check the post wise age limit by checking table below.

3. Nationality- A candidate must be a citizen/subject of either India/Nepal/Bhutan/a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

SSC CGL Selection Process 2024

SSC CGL 2024 Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

1.1 Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).

1.2 Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

• All candidates who have applied successfully for the SSC CGL exam, will be assigned Roll numbers and Admit Cards for appearing in the Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I).

• Based on the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations.

• Separate cut-offs will be released separately for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Paper-III of Tier-II (i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and for Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).

• Tier-II Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.

• In Tier II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I, II and Paper-III. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-II and Paper-III respectively.
