SSC CGL Notification 2024

With the release of the SSC Calendar 2024, it has been already notified that the SSC CGL 2024 Notification PDF will tentatively be released on 11th June 2024 at www.ssc.gov.in. For candidates who are graduates and looking for a well-settled government job in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and its Subordinate Offices, then SSC CGL is the exam to appear for. From past 2 years, SSC has changed the selection process and now only two tier exams will be conducted to shortlist candidates for various Group B and C posts released under SSC CGL Notification 2024.

SSC CGL 2024 Timeline

Along with the notification release date, the schedule for the online registration process and tier 1 exam month are also notified. Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL Exam 2024

Not everyone can appear in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has set parameters for minimum eligibility criteria including education qualifications, age limit, and nationality. As per the last year’s notification, the eligibility criteria is as follows-

1. Education Qualification

• For Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University and CA/CS/MBA/Cost &  Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/ Masters in Business Studies.
• For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
  or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
• For Statistical Investigator Grade-II- Graduation Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
• For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum one year research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
• For Remaining posts- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

2. Age Limit- 18 to 32 years

3. Nationality- A candidate must be a citizen/subject of either India/Nepal/Bhutan/a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

Posts Included in SSC CGL Exam

SSC CGL Exam is conducted to fill vacancies for various Group B and Group C posts in the Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and its Subordinate Offices. The list of SSC CGL Posts is as follows-

1. Assistants in Ministries/Departments, Attached and Subordinate office of the Govt. of India
2. Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs
3. Inspectors of Income Tax
4. Preventive Officers in Customs
5. Examiner in Customs
6. Sub-Inspectors in Central Bureau of Narcotics & CBI
7. Assistant Enforcement Officer in the Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue
8. Divisional Accountant, Jr. Accountant, Auditor & UDCs in various offices of Govt. of India
9. Auditor Offices under C&AG, CGDA, CGA & others
10. Accountant/ Junior Accountant
11. Tax Assistant in CBDT and CBEC
12. Compiler in Registrar General of India

SSC CGL Selection Process

SSC CGL 2024 Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

1.1 Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).

1.2 Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

• All candidates who have applied successfully for the SSC CGL exam, will be assigned Roll numbers and Admit Cards for appearing in the Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I).

• Based on the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations.

• Separate cut-offs will be released separately for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Paper-III of Tier-II (i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and for Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).

• Tier-II Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.

• In Tier II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I, II and Paper-III. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-II and Paper-III respectively.
