JEE Mains Exam Pattern

The JEE Mains exam is a national-level test in India for students who want to study engineering. The exam is held in two different sessions. Paper 1 is for B.E./B.Tech courses and is held online, with questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each subject has 20 multiple-choice questions and 10 numerical questions, but only 5 numerical questions need to be answered.

Paper 2 is for B.Arch and B.Planning courses, with questions in Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing or Planning. The exam uses negative markings for wrong answers, except for the numerical questions. The score from JEE Mains is used for admissions to NITs, IIITs, and other engineering colleges, and it is also the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main Paper 1 Exam Pattern 2025

As per the updated JEE Mains Exam Pattern 2025, Paper 1 will include 20 multiple-choice questions and 10 numerical value questions for each subject, out of which students need to attempt only 5 numerical questions. Paper 1 is designed for students aiming to pursue BE/BTech and will feature both multiple-choice questions and numerical value questions. The paper will consist of three different sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
