CBSE Class 12 annual exams will commence from 17 February 2026 till 10 April 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education has officially announced the CBSE Board Date Sheet 2026 along with exam day instructions and timings. The Class 12 exams will be conducted in one single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. All the board exam students will be allotted 15 mins of reading time to go through the entire question paper on each day of the board exam. CBSE Class 12 exam is to be held in offline mode (pen and paper). CBSE Class 12th Exam Day Instruction 2026
Students appearing for the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2026 must strictly follow the official guidelines issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Following these CBSE 2026 exam day instructions will help students avoid disqualification, reduce stress, and complete the exam smoothly.
- Reach the CBSE exam centre at least 30 minutes before reporting time
- Carry your CBSE Class 12 Admit Card 2026 and school ID card
- Wear proper school uniform as per CBSE board exam dress code
- Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic devices
- Bring only permitted stationery in a transparent pouch
- Follow the seating plan and invigilator’s instructions carefully
- Read all instructions on the CBSE question paper before attempting answers
- Attempt all questions as per the marking scheme and word limit

Things to Carry to CBSE Class 12 Exam Centre
As per the guidelines of the CBSE Board Class 12 students must only carry those items that are allowed inside the examination hall. Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators (unless permitted), written notes, or any electronic gadgets.

CBSE Class 12 Passing Marks
CBSE Board Class 12 students must get at least 33% in each of the five subjects to pass. Subjects which include practicals students need to secure 33% separately in both theory and practical. Students must pass every subject individually as marks from one subject cannot be added to another subject to meet the passing criteria. In case a student fails in one subject they will have to appear for the CBSE Compartment exam to improve their result.

The CBSE Board Exam 2026 dress code is designed to keep the examination process fair and disciplined. Regular students must come in their proper school uniform, while private candidates should wear simple, light-coloured clothes without prints or heavy designs. Avoid carrying jewellery, metal items, smartwatches, or any electronic gadgets inside the exam centre.
