CBSE Class 12th annual exams commenced on 17 February 2026 and will be held on different dates till 10 April 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education has officially announced the CBSE Board Date Sheet 2026 along with exam day instructions and timings.. The Class 12 exams are to be conducted in one single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Students appearing for the board exam will be allotted extra 15 minutes to read the question paper before the exam starts. CBSE Class 12 exam is to be held in offline mode (pen and paper). Things to Carry to CBSE Class 12 Exam Centre

As per the guidelines of the CBSE Board Class 12 students must only carry those items that are allowed inside the examination hall. read the checklist given below.

• CBSE Class 12 Admit Card 2026 (mandatory)
• School ID Card
• Transparent pen pouch with blue/black pens
• Geometry box (if required for the subject)
• Transparent water bottle
• Approved medical items (if applicable)

Things Not Allowed at CBSE Class 12 Exam Centre

Class 12th Board exam students must strictly avoid carrying banned items to the exam centre. In case any restricted item listed below is found it may lead to cancellation of the paper or disqualification of the candidate.Students are also advised to carefully check their pockets and belongings before entering the CBSE Class 12 exam hall to avoid any issues.

• Mobile phones
• Smartwatches and digital watches
• Bluetooth devices, earphones, or microphones
• Written notes, chits or loose papers
• Books, printed or handwritten material
• Electronic gadgets of any kind
• Wallets, handbags, or pouches (other than transparent)

CBSE Class 12 Passing Marks

CBSE Board Class 12 students must get at least 33% in each of the five subjects to pass. Subjects which include practicals students need to secure 33% separately in both theory and practical. Students must pass every subject individually as marks from one subject cannot be added to another subject to meet the passing criteria. In case a student fails in one subject they will have to appear for the CBSE Compartment exam to improve their result.

The CBSE Board Exam 2026 dress code is designed to keep the examination process fair and disciplined. Regular students must come in their proper school uniform, while private candidates should wear simple, light-colored clothes without prints or heavy designs.
