CBSE Exam 2025 – Key Changes Introduced by the Board for Upcoming Exams

Appearing for the CBSE Class 10th OR 12th Board Exam in 2024-25? This article is for you! As we all know the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently released the detailed exam schedule for both class 10th and 12th board exams at its official website. This is to inform all the class 10, and 12 students that the Board has made a few important changes to the exam pattern.  These changes aim to improve learning and help students score better. CBSE Class 10th, 12th Exams 2025

As per the released CBSE Exam Date Sheet, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is scheduled to conduct the CBSE Class 10th board exams from February 15 to March 18, 2025, while the board exams for class 12th students will take place between February 15 and April 04, 2025. This year, the CBSE board exams 2025 will be conducted for more than 44 lakh students across 8,000 schools in India and 26 countries worldwide. Students from both India and other nations will participate in these important exams held by CBSE.

CBSE Exam Changes 2025

Below we have discussed all the important changes made by the CBSE. These changes aim to make exams more balanced and fair. Along with all the major changes in the CBSE Class 10th and 12th Board Exams, the Central Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also informed students that the board has opened a sub-regional office in Agartala to improve education quality and infrastructure in the region.

  • Attendance Rule

Students must have at least 75% attendance during the academic year to appear for CBSE Class 10th and 12th board exams.

  • Fewer Lonh Answers

The CBSE board will reduce the number of long and short-answer questions for Classes 10 and 12. This change will focus more on checking students’ understanding of the subject rather than writing long responses.

  • Special Exams for Sports and Olympics

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided that special exams will be held for students who represent India in sports events or participate in recognized Olympiads. This will help them avoid exam date conflicts.

  • More Real Life Questions

More competency-based questions will be added to Class 12 exams. These questions will test how well students can apply their learning to real-life situations.

  • More Marks for Internal Tests

As per the recent changes the Internal assessments will now carry 40% of the total marks, while board exams will count for 60%. Projects, tests, and assignments will be part of internal assessments to ensure better evaluation.
