The Central Board of Secondary Education released a notification on its official website on September 24, 2025. The notification announces that the board will conduct the class 10 examinations in 2 phases. The phase 1 exams will be conducted between February 17 and March 06, 2026, while the phase 2 exams will be held between May 05 and May 21, 2026.

CBSE Final Date Sheet 2026

The CBSE Board conducts year-end examinations for classes 10th and 12th in February and March, but as the board has now accepted the recommendations offered in the NEP 2020, and will be conducting the class 10th exams in 2 phases, providing students with more time and room for their exam preparations. Also, the notification mentions that the class 12th exams will be completed in 46 days, for which more than 20 lakh students have already completed their registrations.
