CUET General Test Syllabus 2026
In the CUET General Test, students need to attempt 50 out of 60 questions in the duration of 60 minutes. The students appearing in the General Test section of CUET 2026 will need to answer only the questions they are confident of, because the marking pattern for this section is negative marking. For every right answer, students will be awarded +5, while for the wrong answers, 1 mark will be deducted.
It covers topics in English, reasoning, data interpretation, and general awareness. English comprehension tests the understanding of passages and grammar. Reasoning assesses logical thinking skills. What are the New Changes in GAT 2026?
Starting in 2026, the General Aptitude Test (GAT) will replace the General Test syllabus. The GAT, a 60-minute online exam with 50 compulsory questions, will be used for admissions in various programs. Domain-specific subjects like ‘Entrepreneurship,’ ‘Teaching Skills,’ ‘Fashion Studies,’ ‘Tourism,’ ‘Legal Studies,’ and ‘Engineering Graphics’ will be discontinued, and admission will now depend on GAT scores. Additionally, for all languages included in CUET Section IIB, including foreign languages (20 in CUET-UG 2024), admission to related programs will be determined based on performance in the GAT paper.
CUET GAT Exam Pattern 2026
The CUET General Test Exam Paper 2026 will be divided into three different sections, namely Section 1, Section 2, and Section 3, of which the whole question paper will be divided. The number and types of questions in each section will be different as per the exam pattern.
