CBSE refuses claim of syllabus reduction for Class 10 and 12 Board Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education has rejected the claims of reduction of CBSE Syllabus 2025 for the upcoming exams. This came as a result of all the news being spread across multiple media platforms that the CBSE has announced a 10-15% reduction of classes 10th and 12th syllabus.

Previously it was shared by multiple platforms that the CBSE Regional Officer for Bhopal, Mr Vikas Kumar Agrawal in a press meeting announced the reduction of syllabus up to 10-15%. However, at that time also there was no official announcement or confirmation about the same from the board’s side.

CBSE Denies Syllabus Reduction

The CBSE board has issued a notification denying any changes in the CBSE Syllabus 2025 and the conduction of open book exams for certain subjects. The board in its notification has urged students not to focus on any news or suggestions provided by unauthorized portals, but to follow the official portal of CBSE to stay updated about the latest updates and changes.

Note: The CBSE Date Sheet 2025 will be released soon. CBSE Board Exams 2025 are expected to commence on February 15, 2025.

CBSE Exam Pattern 2025 Changed?

The CBSE Board in its notification has mentioned that they are not introducing any changes in the CBSE Exam Pattern 2025. Previously, there were guesses that the board would increase the internal assessment weightage but now the board has denied all such claims.

The board has announced that they have no plans to change the CBSE Exam Pattern 2025 and have also mentioned that if they make any changes to it, they will be updating it at the official portals only.

Digital Assessment

How is CBSE improving the way students are evaluated? CBSE will keep using a digital system to check answer sheets in some subjects. This system, which started recently, helps make the marking process faster and more transparent.

The goal is to assess students on how well they can analyze, interpret, and apply what they know, rather than simply recalling information from memory. This change encourages students to develop critical thinking skills over rote learning.
