The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a major exam in India for students who want to study courses like MBBS, BDS, or AYUSH. Each year, the NTA provides an information brochure on its official website https://neet.ntaonline.in/ with all the details about the rules, eligibility, and age criteria. To enter medical education through NEET 2025, students must meet specific eligibility rules set by the National Testing Agency (NTA). To apply for the NEET 2025 exam, students must meet specific requirements, including a minimum age limit.
NEET Age Limit 2025
The NEET age limit is set to make sure that students applying for the exam are within the right age group for medical studies. This helps ensure that only those who are eligible can take the exam and join medical courses. The age rules are important to keep the admission process fair and organized so that only candidates who meet the age requirements can participate in the NEET and pursue their dream of becoming a doctor.
- The minimum age requirement for all candidates is 17 years as of December 31 of the year of admission. Therefore, to meet this age limit, candidates must be born on or before December 31.
- There is no upper age limit for those wishing to take the NEET exam.
Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG
Before filling out the NEET 2025 registration form, every student must meet the required NEET Eligibility Criteria. These rules decide who can take the exam. If a student does not fulfill these conditions, they cannot appear for NEET. The eligibility criteria include age limits, educational qualifications, and nationality requirements. It is important to check these details carefully before applying. Meeting all the conditions ensures a smooth registration process and avoids any issues later.
- To be eligible for NEET 2025, students must have completed their 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as main subjects.
- General category students must have at least 50% marks in their 12th-grade exams in the required subjects, while reserved category students need a minimum of 40%.

There were lots of restrictions on the NEET 2025 UG Age Limit, subjects, and types of school but as per the received NEET Eligibility Criteria 2025, the National Testing Agency has now removed all those restrictions. The biggest change is that there is no upper age limit anymore. This means that any student who is 17 years or older can apply for the NEET exam, no matter their age. These updates make it easier for more students to appear for the exam and pursue a career in medicine.

NEET Age Restrictions
For NEET 2025, the age limit rules have been changed. There is no longer an upper age limit for candidates taking the NEET exam. Previously, students from the general category had a limit of 25 years, while those from reserved categories like SC, ST, and OBC had a limit of 30 years. However, starting from 2025, anyone who is 17 or older can apply for NEET, regardless of how old they are. This change was officially announced by the National Medical Commission (NMC) on March 9, 2022, removing age as a restriction for NEET eligibility.
