CBSE Releases Exam Ethics Notice for Class 10 & 12 Board Exams in 2025, Check Official Notice Here

The Central Board of Secondary Education is all set to start the board examinations for classes 10th and 12th from February 15, 2025. The CBSE Board has now released a notification on its official website with the subject “making class 10th, 12th students aware about examination ethics”.

The board, in the released notification, asked all the affiliated schools to inform all the students of classes 10th and 12th about the examination ethics and the consequences of indulging in unfair means.

Instructions for Affiliated Schools

The school principals and faculty members are instructed to read the UFM guidelines and penalties that are to be imposed. All the students must be informed and instructed about the “Unfair Means Rules” in detail, along with the consequences of rules violation. They must also be reminded about the permitted and barred items and the dress code to be followed on the exam day.

The CBSE Board has also instructed the examination authorities to thoroughly train their fellow examiners to ensure the following of the board’s guidelines and maintain a smooth examination process.

Unfair Means Rules and Penalties

The CBSE Board has released a set of activities to be kept under “Act of Unfair Means” along with the “Implemented Penalties”.

Act of Unfair Means

  • Possession, Use or attempted use of any Electronic Device (including mobile phone), which can be used as a communication device, after entering the Examination Centre. Supported by report of Invigilator/ Checking Staff
  • Students indulging in spreading rumors affecting the smooth conduct of examinations

Implemented Personalities

  • Cancellation of current as well as next year’s examination in full subjects and shall eligible to write/ have/ take the Examination in Full Subjects thereafter.

List of Permitted Items in CBSE Board Exam 2025

  • Admit Card & School ID Card (for regular students)
  • Admit Card & Any Govt. approved ID Card (for private students)
  • Stationery items i.e., Transparent Pouch, Geometry/Pencil Box, Blue/Royal Blue Ink/Ball Point/Gel Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Eraser
  • Analogue Watch, Transparent Water Bottle
  • Metro Card, Bus Pass, Money

List of Barred Items in CBSE Board Exam 2025

  • Any stationery item – such as textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, or Calculator (Students with a Learning Disability i.e. Dyscalculia are permitted to use a Calculator as per Circular No. CBSE/COORD/2020 dated 20.01.2020 and are provided the same by Exam center), Pen Drives, Calculator, Log Table (shall be provided by the centers), Electronic Pen/ Scanner, etc.
  • Any communication device – such as Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band, Smart Watch, Camera, etc.
  • Other items like wallets, goggles, handbags, Pouches, etc.
  • Any eatable item opened or packed, except for diabetic students
  • Any other item that could be used for unfair means
  • Use of the above or similar items will be treated under the “Unfair Means” category and will attract punishment as per the rules.

Dress Code for CBSE Board Exam 2025

The CBSE Board Exam Ethics 2025 shares the dress code to be followed by the students during their exams. Check the dress code ahead:

  • For regular students – School uniform
  • For private students – Light clothes
