The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the exam day instructions for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 at its official website. All the candidates who are preparing to appear in the exam scheduled to be held on December 01, 2024 need to go through the detailed institutions and ensure that they follow all the guidelines in the manner instructed in the notification.
The CLAT 2025 exam scores will be considered as a step for admission into law courses like BA LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com LLB, and B.Sc LLB and LLM programs at 24 NLUs and various other law colleges. Scroll down in this article to read the CLAT 2025 Exam Day Guidelines.
CLAT 2025 Exam Day Guidelines
The time duration allotted for the conduction of the CLAT 2025 exam is 2 hours between 2 pm and 4 pm. Below we have added the reporting timing and other related instructions that need to be followed by every candidate:
- The entry timing into the examination hall is from 01:00 pm while all the candidates need to be at their respective seats/ classrooms by 01:30 pm.
- Once entered no candidate will be allowed to exit the examination hall before 04:00 pm.
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall/ classroom after 02:15 pm.
- The examination timing is 2 hours starting at 02:00 pm and ending at 04:00 pm while for the PwD/SAP students, the exam duration is 2 hours 40 minutes taking the exam ending time to 04:40 pm.
- No candidate will be permitted to use washrooms once the exam has started.
Bell Timings for CLAT 2025
On the exam day, there will be multiple bells ringing at different times indicating different meanings, therefore, it is necessary that all the students must have prior knowledge of what is the purpose of every bell ring. Check the Bell Timing for CLAT 2025:

CLAT Exam 2025 – Documents to Carry
- Candidate’s CLAT 2025 Admit Card (In case the candidate’s photograph is not clear on the Admit Card must carry a self-attested photograph)
- Valid ID proofs like original Photo ID issued by any government organization
- Certification of disability for the candidates belonging to PwD/ SAP category
- Candidates are permitted to carry a black or blue point pen, a transparent water bottle, an analog watch, a valid government ID
- No candidate will be allowed to take their bags, or any other belongings inside the examination hall

Question Booklet (QB)
- The Question Booklet (QB) will carry the candidate’s photograph, name, and admit card number. Upon receiving the QB, the candidate is requested to verify the same.
- QB consists of 120 (one hundred and twenty) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and 2 (Two) blank pages for rough work. No additional sheet(s) will be provided for rough work.
- There will be no marking in the question paper other than the space provided as a working sheet.
- No clarification can be sought on the QB from anyone during the test. In case of any discrepancy in the QB, candidates should request the Invigilator to replace the QB and OMR Response Sheet. Do not use the previous OMR Response Sheet with the fresh QB.
- Candidates shall enter their Admit Card Number on the first page of the QB at the commencement of the test.
