The National Testing Agency (NTA) has shared that the potential changes expected in the NEET 2025 exam are awaiting a response from the High-Powered Expert Committee, established on the directions of the Supreme Court of India. This information came as a response to the RTI (Right to Information) request filled by Dr. Vivek Pandey, an activist.
The RTI was filled with the intention to get the sights of the meetings held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in July and August 2024. The response given by the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) mentioned that the information required in the RTI is “not available in the form you desire. Hence, this information could not be furnished to you”.
NEET 2025 Exam Pattern Changed?
Dr. Vivek Pandey wasn’t convinced by the initial response and therefore submitted a first appeal requesting information in any form available. He asked about the importance of transparency by mentioning Section 20(1) of the RTI Act 2005, which has a penalty for providing incomplete or misleading information. This clause enforces a fine of INR 250 per day with a maximum of INR 25,000.
In response to this appeal, the National Testing Agency responded, “The reply of the CPIO is adequate, the information as asked by you is not available and hence not furnished. Further, on the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court of India, the Government has constituted a High-Powered Expert Committee whose report is still awaited.”
