CLAT Counselling 2025 – Freeze, Float and Exit Option

At the time of CLAT Counselling 2025 candidates are provided with three options namely: Freeze option, Float option, and Exit option. This is important that all the candidates who are willing to appear in the CLAT Counselling 2025 must note that the availability of these options may vary among different NLUs and Counselling rounds.

CLAT Counselling 2025 – Freeze Option

In CLAT Counselling 2025, the freeze option allows candidates to secure a seat in a preferred law college. Once a candidate accepts a seat and chooses the freeze option, their allocated college and course are confirmed. This means they won’t participate in further rounds of Counselling and won’t be considered for any upgrades. It’s a choice made when a candidate is satisfied with their allotted seat and wants to finalize their admission without the risk of losing it in subsequent rounds.

CLAT Counselling 2025 – Float Option

The float option in CLAT Counselling enables candidates to accept a seat but remains open to potential upgrades in subsequent rounds. If a better seat becomes available in the later Counselling rounds, candidates with the later Counselling rounds, candidates with the float option can choose to accept the new offer while forfeiting their previous seat. It provides flexibility for candidates who want to explore better opportunities without losing their current seat immediately. However, choosing to float comes with the risk of not securing any seat if a more preferred option doesn’t become available in the later rounds.

CLAT Counselling 2025 – Exit Option

The “Exit” option in CLAT Counselling allows candidates to withdraw from the Counselling to withdraw from the Counselling process after accepting a seat in the earlier rounds. This means they willingly give up their allotted seats and choose not to participate further in the Counselling rounds. The exit option is exercised when a candidate decides not to pursue admission to the allocated college and course. It’s a way for candidates to process if they have changed their minds or made other decisions regarding their academic choices.
