The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) successfully released the TNEA Rank List 2024 on July 10, 2024 [Wednesday] at its official website. All the candidates who appeared for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) Examination 2024 can now check and download their rank lists by simply visiting the official website www.tneaonline.org and logging in using their respective application number and password as login credentials. All the candidates are informed that they can raise objections against the TNEA Rank List from July 11, 2024, to July 18, 2024.

To prepare the TNEA 2024 engineering rank list the authorities use a normalization method. It should be noted that the separate category-wise and overall rank list of TNEA will be released soon. Candidates shortlisted on the TNEA 2024 rank list will be considered eligible to participate in the counselling process, which will be conducted online. Candidates are informed that the BE/BTech admission in Tamil Nadu is done based on the online counselling process called TNEA. There is no state-level entrance exam for admission in Tamil Nadu.

TNEA Rank List 2024: Normalisation Method

The TNEA Rank List 2024 is made using a normalisation method based on Class 12th marks. In this process, a candidate’s total score is converted to a scale of 200. Here’s how it works: The marks in mathematics are taken out of 100, and the combined marks for physics and chemistry are also taken out of 100. These two scores are them added together to get the final total out of 200. This method ensures a fair comparison of marks for all candidates.
