JEE Main 2025: Registration Last Day Today, Correction Window Opens November 26

The National Testing Agency (NTA) which opened the registration window for the JEE Mains 2025 exam on October 28 with the scheduled deadline of November 22, 2024, has now released a notification announcing that there won’t be any extension to the registration window after the deadline. Therefore, all the students who aspire to appear in the JEE Mains 2025 exams need to complete their registration as per the released schedule.

The official notification released by the NTA mentioned “last date for submission of online application for JEE (Main) 2025 is November 22, 2024, and there will be no further extension of date“. The students after making their registrations will be provided with the opportunity to make selective changes to the application form on November 26 and November 27, 2024.

All the students aspiring to appear in the JEE Mains 2025 exam need to note that it is their last chance to make their registration at the official website. The JEE Mains 2025 registration window which opened on October 28 is scheduled to close on November 22, 2024.

Applicable Changes in JEE Mains 2025 Exam

The notification released by the NTA shared a list of changes that a student can make in the application form during the opening of the correction window. All the students can check the list of applicable changes in the JEE Mains 2025 exam in the table below:

  • class 12/ equivalent details
  • PAN Card number
Students shall be allowed to change examination cities based on their permanent and present address
  • examination city selection
  • medium of the examination
Students shall be allowed to change all the fields:
  • date of birth
  • gender
  • category
  • sub-category/ PwD
  • signature
Students shall be allowed to add the field:
  • paper
  • If there is any impact on the fee, then the additional fee will be changed as applicable. However, in any case, the fee will not be reimbursed
  • Corrections in all these fields will be applicable only after the payment of an additional fee, if any
  • Only one-time correction will be allowed to the student, i.e., once the corrections are done and submitted, the form shall be frozen.

New Changes Introduced in JEE Mains 2025

The National Testing Agency, which conducts the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), has introduced several key changes in the JEE Mains Exam 2025 that every aspirant needs to know. All these changes reflect a shift back to the exam format of the pre-pandemic era, check the changes listed below:

  • Removal of Optional Question in Section B

The optional questions that were introduced in Section B of the JEE Mains exam during the pandemic have finally been removed by the NTA. Therefore, now the students will have to attempt all the 5 numerical value questions of Section B.

  • Revised Tie-Breaking Criteria 

The NTA has announced that they have revised the Tie-Breaking Criteria while the final set of rules is yet to be released publically

  • Elimination of Age Limit

The age limitation for the students applying for the JEE Mains exam has been removed allowing the students to apply for the exam if they can fulfill all the remaining conditions

  • Reduction of Exam Cities

The NTA has reduced the total of exam cities from 300 to 284 citing better facilities and control over the exam for the domestic students. The total number of exam cities for international students has also been reduced impacting the availability of exam centers for some overseas students

  • Introduction of Negative Marking

The students need to note that from the JEE Mains Exam 2025, the NTA will follow a negative marking procedure for all the answers to Numerical Value Questions (NVQs). This means that for every wrong answer, the student will be deducted 1 mark.
