Ques- Can I apply for more than 1 state?
Ans- No, candidates can apply for vacancies in one State/UT only under the SBI Clerk 2026 recruitment. SBI also states that candidates can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.
What is SBI Clerk Eligibility?
Educational Qualification (as on 31.12.2026): Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the central government. Candidates in their final year/semester may also apply provisionally, subject to producing proof of graduation by 31.12.2026.
Important:
- Candidates currently working in SBI’s clerical cadre are not eligible.
- Candidates who previously resigned from SBI while in the clerical cadre are not eligible.
- Candidates with adverse reports regarding character, antecedents, or moral turpitude are not eligible.
Age Limit (as on 01.04.2026): The minimum age is 20 years, and the maximum age is 28 years i.e., candidates must be born not earlier than 02.04.1998 and not later than 01.04.2006 (both dates inclusive).
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process for SBI Clerk vacancies consists of three phases:
- Preliminary Examination (Online, Objective)
- Main Examination (Online, Objective)
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) — applicable only to candidates who have not studied the specified local language at 10th/12th level
Important: Only the main exam marks are used for the final merit list; prelims marks are used solely for shortlisting candidates for the main exam (approximately 10 times the vacancies per category).
