Candidates can estimate their scores using the marking scheme specified for the examination. Under the standard IBPS objective-test marking scheme, one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question are deducted for each incorrect answer.

Expected score = Marks for correct answers − Penalty for incorrect answers

For example, if a candidate answers 75 questions correctly and 10 questions incorrectly, assuming one mark per question:

  • Marks for correct answers: 75
  • Negative marks: 10 × 0.25 = 2.5
  • Estimated score: 75 − 2.5 = 72.5 marks
