Reasoning Ability

Numerical Ability section tests a candidate’s knowledge of basic mathematical concepts, calculation speed, numerical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. Candidates must balance calculation-based questions with comparatively shorter questions to finish the section in the allocated time.

English Language

English Language section assesses a candidate’s understanding of grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and sentence structure. The questions are designed to assess a candidate’s ability to read quickly, accurately understand the language, and identify grammatical errors.

Numerical Ability

A total of 35 questions were covered in the Quant section of the IBPS Clerk Prelims Examination 2026. Numerical Ability section tests a candidate’s knowledge of basic mathematical concepts, calculation speed, numerical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.

How to Calculate Expected IBPS Clerk Prelims Score?

Candidates can calculate their probable score by considering the number of correct and incorrect responses that have been marked by them. The calculation would depend upon the marking scheme that is followed by the examination.

  • For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awared
  • There is negative marking: 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer

Expected score = Number of correct answers − (Number of incorrect answers × 0.25)

For example

If a candidate answers 75 questions correctly and 10 incorrectly, the expected score would turn out to be 75 − (10 × 0.25) = 72.5 marks.
