Candidates must satisfy one of the following:
- Matriculation / SSLC + ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in trades: Armature & Coil Winder, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, Heat Engine, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Millwright Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic Radio & TV, Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, Tractor Mechanic, Turner, Wireman
- Matriculation / SSLC + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades above
- Three-year Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile
- Engineering from a recognised institution

- On the homepage, click the link for "CEN-01/2026 (ALP) — Pay Level-2 post of Assistant Loco Pilot".
- Click Apply → Create an Account. Fill in Personal Information, Aadhaar Verification, and Contact Details.
- Log in with your registered mobile number and password to complete the application form.
- Select your preferred RRB, post, and railway zones.
- Enter educational qualification details and select your trade for CBT-2 Part B.
- Upload scanned photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).
- Preview all details carefully. Exercise your order of post preference and complete the declaration.

RRB ALP 2026 Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on a multi-stage process as per the RRB ALP CEN 01/2026 guidelines. Railway Zone and RRB-wise vacancies are released along with the notification. Candidates can choose only one RRB.

RRB ALP 2026 Exam Pattern
The RRB ALP 2026 exam pattern has been updated with key changes in the 2026 notification. The selection process consists of 3 computer-based stages — CBT 1, CBT 2, and CBAT — along with Document Verification and Medical Examination.
CBT 1 Exam Pattern (Updated 2026)
The RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2026 has been changed. CBT 1 now has 75 questions (General Awareness removed). Questions are from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Science. CBT 1 is a screening exam only — marks are not counted in the final merit list.

CBT 2 is conducted in online mode with a total duration of 2 hours 30 minutes. It has two parts — Part A (written, merit-based) and Part B (trade-specific, qualifying only).
Marking Scheme: +1 for correct | −⅓ for incorrect (Part A). Part B is qualifying only — minimum 35% marks required.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Candidates who clear the CBT 2 and 2 exams will be called for round 3, i.e. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and after that, the final selection list will be prepared. There shall be no negative marking in the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) round.

Q. How many attempts are allowed for RRB ALP exam?
Ans.- There is no limit on the number of attempts for RRB ALP until and unless they falls within the prescribed age limit of 18 to 30 years (with applicable relaxations).
