The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CTET Notification for the September session along with application forms and exam date on 11th May 2026. The exam will be held in offline mode, meaning it is a pen-and-paper test.
CTET Exam is a national-level exam held to assess the eligibility of candidates for teacher posts in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS). Candidates who have completed their degree and are looking forward to beginning their teaching career must appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), which is conducted twice a year.

Who is eligible to apply for CTET September 2026?
CTET Exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 (Class 1 to 5) and Paper 2 (6 to 8). The eligibility criteria for both papers are discussed below.
CTET Paper I: For those looking forward to teaching classes I-V. Applicants should have a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a similar qualification, either completed or in the final year.
CTET Paper II: For classes VI-VIII. Graduation with relevant degrees like B.Ed., B.A.Ed, or similar, is required for eligibility.
Application Form CTET September 2026
As mentioned in the short notification, the online applications for CTET September Exam 2026 will start accepting from 11th May 2026 (today) at www.ctet.nic.in and the last date to submit the application is 10th June 2026. Candidates have to submit their applications online within this period and any application after this will not be accepted.
Application Fee
Only the applications submitted with the application fee will be accepted, and the fee for single and double papers is different. If the candidate has to apply for the CTET September 2026 Paper 1 or Paper 2, then they have to pay Rs. 1000/- [General/OBC(NCL)] and Rs. 500/- [SC/ST/Diff. Abled Person.
