SSC GD Slot Booking 2026 Soon at ssc.gov.in, How to Select Exam City & Date?

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is shortly going to release the SSC GD Slot Booking Date 2026 through an official notice on its official website, www.ssc.gov.in. The SSC GD Self Slot Selection process will be conducted only for the candidates who have submitted their applications. Candidates can choose their preferred exam dates and shifts through the self-slot process.

SSC GD Slot Booking Date 2026

The portal for slot selection will start after the release of the official notice for the same, and the slot booking dates will be notified in the notice. The SSC has introduced a self-slot selection system to make exam scheduling more candidate-friendly and efficient. 

It is mandatory to book the slot and exam date, as only the candidates who complete the slot booking process will be issued a city intimation slip and admit cards. The SSC GD 2026 Exam will be conducted for more than 35 lakhs of candidates to select the candidates for 25487 Constable vacancies.

SSC GD Self Slot Selection allows registered candidates to book their exam date and shift online. The facility is activated on the official SSC website and candidates have to log into the candidate's portal with their registration ID and password for slot booking. How to Select SSC GD Exam City & Slot?

1. Candidates must first visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission at www.ssc.gov.in.
2. Log in to the candidate portal using your registered credentials and navigate to the “My Application” section.
3. On the application dashboard for "Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination-2026", click on the option “Select City, Exam Date, Shift.”
4. Carefully read the instructions and click on “Get Slot Details.” The system will show the availability of exam slots for the three cities selected during the application process.
5. Available slots will be indicated by a green “Select” icon, allowing candidates to choose their preferred exam date and shift.
6. Once a slot is selected, it will turn green for confirmation.
7. Finally, candidates must click on “Validate & Submit”.
8. Complete the process by entering the OTP sent to their registered mobile number or email ID.
9. If the preferred exam slots are unavailable, candidates should choose a different exam date or select an alternate city from the options displayed on the screen.
10. The portal will show the slot status for each shift, and if all shifts in the selected cities are marked as unavailable, candidates must use the “Choose Alternate City” option to proceed.

SSC GD 2026 Exam Shift Timings

SSC GD Computer-Based Examination is expected to be held in multiple shifts each day to ensure the management of the examination for a large number of candidates. As per the previous year's exam schedule, the exam will be conducted in four shifts each day for 1 hour duration. Check the expected exam shift timings from the table below.

1. Candidates must finalise their choices before the window closes.
2. If preferred cities are full, make a choice nearby.
3. For candidates choosing regional language papers, slot availability may be more limited.
4. Once submitted, the date, shift, and city cannot be edited.
5. Failing to select a slot, admit cards will not be issued.

After the slot selection, SSC releases the SSC GD City Intimation Slip 2026, informing the candidates of their confirmed exam city and date. After that, SSC GD Admit Card 2026 will be released, including details about the exam centre, exam date, and shift allotted based on the candidate’s slot selection. Candidates can download it by visiting the official website https://ssc.gov.in/ using their credentials like Registration Number & password.
