The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided not to conduct the slot selection process for the SSC GD Constable 2026 examination. This means candidates will not be allowed to choose their preferred exam date, shift, or city. The candidates who have applied for the exam will be directly shared with exam city slips as per the previous pattern.
SSC GD Self Slot Selection 2026 Cancelled
The SSC GD 2026 Exam was scheduled to be conducted from 23rd February 2026, for which more than 35 lakhs of candidates were to be selected for 25487 Constable vacancies. As per the latest notice, for this time, the slot selection will not be conducted and the candidates will be directly allotted the exam city by the Staff Selection Commission.

SSC GD City Intimation & Admit Card 2026
As the slot selection is cancelled, SSC releases the SSC GD City Intimation Slip 2026, informing the candidates of their alloted exam city and date. After that, the SSC GD Admit Card 2026 will be released, including details about the exam centre, exam date, and shift allotted based on the candidate’s slot selection. Candidates can download it by visiting the official website https://ssc.gov.in/ using their credentials like Registration Number & password.
SSC GD 2026 Exam Shift Timings
SSC GD Computer-Based Examination is expected to be held in multiple shifts each day to ensure the management of the examination for a large number of candidates. As per the previous year's exam schedule, the exam will be conducted in four shifts each day for 1 hour duration. Check the expected exam shift timings from the table below.
