The Staff Selection Commission will release the detailed notification for the SSC CHSL Exam in July 2026, after which the online application forms will be made available at www.ssc.gov.in. The candidates can proceed to submit the application fee only via online mode. A candidate must pay Rs. 100 as the SSC CHSL Online Application Fee.

Quick Eligibility Check Before Applying

Before starting your application, confirm you meet these three basic conditions — applying while ineligible wastes both your fee and your time:

• Age Limit: 18–27 years as on the notification's cut-off date (relaxation applicable for OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen as per government norms)
• Educational Qualification: Passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board — Science with Mathematics required for LDC/JSA and most DEO posts; any stream accepted for DEO Grade 'A' in select departments
• Nationality: Indian citizen, or as specified under SSC's nationality clause (Nepal/Bhutan subjects, Tibetan refugees pre-1962, or specified categories of Indian-origin migrants)

How to Apply Online for SSC CHSL 2026?

SSC has made Aadhaar-enabled One-Time Registration (OTR) mandatory for all candidates. If you've already registered for any SSC exam after the OTR system was introduced, you do not need to register again — simply log in with your existing Registration ID and Password and skip to Step 2.

Step 1: Complete SSC OTR (One-Time Registration)

1. Visit the official SSC website, www.ssc.gov.in, and go to the Candidate Portal.
2. Click on 'Register Now' under the Login section if you're a first-time applicant.
3. Enter your basic details: Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Class 10 Roll Number.
4. Complete Aadhaar-based verification via OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. If you don't have Aadhaar, alternative photo ID proof is accepted.
5. Fill in category, nationality, visible identification mark, benchmark disability status (if any), and permanent/present address.
6. Upload your photograph and signature as per SSC's specified format and size.
7. Create a password, accept the declaration, and click Final Submit.
8. Verify via OTP sent to mobile/email to complete registration. You'll receive your SSC Registration Number — save this carefully.

Step 2: Fill SSC CHSL Application Form

Once OTR is complete (or if you're already registered), log in to your dashboard to apply specifically for CHSL:

1. Log in to the SSC Candidate Portal using your Registration ID and Password.
2. From the dashboard, locate the SSC CHSL 2026 notification and click 'Apply'.
3. Select your preferred exam centres (usually up to 3 choices allowed).
4. Choose post preferences among LDC/JSA, DEO, DEO Grade 'A', Postal Assistant, and Sorting Assistant, based on your eligibility.
5. Review your OTR profile details — educational qualification and category information carry forward automatically.
6. Pay the application fee (if applicable to your category) via the available online payment modes.
7. Review the complete form carefully, then submit.
8. Download and save the acknowledgement/confirmation page for your records.
