The Jharkhand government has cancelled the JSSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination and the recruitment test conducted by outsourced testing agency TSR Data Processing Pvt. Ltd (TDPL) since 2014. Chief Minister Hemant Soren on August 17, 2026, decided to end the 24-day-long protest by job aspirants demanding the cancellation of the exam over alleged irregularities and a paper leak.
TSR Data Processing Pvt. Ltd is the private agency that has been conducting JSSC-CGL and many other Jharkhand recruitment exams since 2014. Now, the examination of all the exams held till now will be done, and a new notification of JSSC CGL will be released soon.
Why is JSSC CGL Exam Cancelled?
The candidates have been protesting in Ranchi for the past 24 days, alleging irregularities in the recruitment examinations conducted through TDPL, the private agency to which JSSC outsourced testing operations. One of the key demands was to cancel the JSSC-CGL examination, as aspirants have alleged a paper leak. Student leader Devendra Nath Mahato has led hunger strikes and attempted to march to the Jharkhand Assembly, maintaining pressure on the state government as the agitation has intensified in recent days.
What Did the Jharkhand Cabinet Decide?
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the government had decided to cancel all the activities related to TDPL, including examinations conducted, results published, candidates selected or participated in and all other TDPL-run activities. The announcement followed a Cabinet meeting held during a fresh round of talks between the government and protesters’ representatives.
Hemant Soren also said that the government has accepted the demand to cancel the JSSC-CGL examination. The government will cancel the examinations and recruitment processes conducted through TDPL that come under government jurisdiction.
What Happens to TDPL-Linked Exams and Results?
TDPL (TSR Data Processing Private Limited) was the outsourced testing partner for several JSSC recruitment drives. By this decision:
- All exams conducted by TDPL since 2014 are cancelled
- Any results published via TDPL shall be declared null
- Selections and appointments through TDPL-run processes come under scrutiny
- All recruitment tests held by TDPL since 2014 would be re-scrutinised as part of the larger probe
What Does This Mean for Candidates?
- JSSC Aspirants: exam will have to be conducted afresh; new notification, application window and exam date expected — none of them announced yet.
- TDPL conducted exams (2014-2026): Candidates can review the results and selections related to TDPL
- Current/upcoming JSSC exams: There has been no official word yet on whether other current JSSC recruitment cycles will be moved to a different testing agency — likely a focus area for the reform committee.
