Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has issued the official notification for KAS (Gazetted Probationers) Recruitment 2026-27. KPSC has invited online applications for 319 vacancies for Group A and Group B posts. KPSC KAS 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from a University established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification, as per Rule 7 of the Karnataka Recruitment of Gazetted Probationers Rules, 1997.
Age Limit
- General Merit: 21 years to 40 years
- Category 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B: 21 years to 43 years
- SC / ST / Category-1: 21 years to 45 years
KPSC KAS 2026 Selection Process
The selection is conducted in three stages as per the KPSC KAS Recruitment 2026:
- Preliminary Examination – Objective type (screening only; marks not counted for final merit)
- Main Examination – Conventional/descriptive written examination
- Personality Test (Interview)
KPSC KAS 2026 Exam Pattern & Syllabus
The KPSC KAS exam is structured in three stages: prelims, mains, and an interview. Candidates must successfully clear the prelims stage to progress further in the selection process. The exam comprises two papers conducted offline. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 consist of objective-type questions designed to assess candidates’ knowledge and aptitude across various subjects
- Both papers carrying a maximum score of 200 marks.
- For each correct answer, you will be awarded 2 marks.
- There is a penalty for incorrect answers, with 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong one.
- Each paper duration is 2 hours.
