National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the re-exam date for the UGC NET June 2026 examinations for English, Commerce, and Sociology subjects after a review committee found multiple serious errors in the question papers. UGC NET June 2026 re-exam for English, Commerce, and Sociology will be held on 9th and 10th September 2026 for only those candidates who appeared earlier.
UGC NET Exam Date 2026 Revised
The UGC NET June 2026 examination was held from 22nd to 30th June 2026, across 87 subjects, for candidates seeking eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes. Following the exam, NTA received a large number of complaints specifically regarding the English, Commerce, and Sociology papers, and NTA has revised the exam date to 9th and 10th September 2026.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed the re-exam dates for English, Commerce, and Sociology subjects that were affected, and no candidate will have to pay any extra fee for this re-conduct.

For the UGC NET June 2026 Examination, the city intimation slip will be released 1 week before the exam date, and the admit card will be released 3 to 4 days before the exam date on the official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/. The admit card carries all details such as exam name, exam timing, venue of examination, important instructions, etc.
