UGC NET Answer Key 2026 Out (June Session), Paper 1 and 2 Response Sheet PDF

The answer key for the UGC NET June Examination 2026 has been released on the official website www.ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The answer key has been released along with the response sheet PDF and the facility to raise objections for all candidates who appeared in the CBT Exam from 22nd to 30th June 2026. Candidates who find any answer incorrect or irrelevant can raise objections by 18th August 2026 with a nominal fee of Rs. 200/- per objection.

The answer key for the UGC NET June Session Exam can be accessed using the application number and password from the official website, www.ugcnet.nta.ac.in, by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of UGC NET, i.e., www.ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
  2. On the homepage, click on “UGC NET June Answer Key Challenge” under the candidate activity section.
  3. After this, a new page appears with login options “Through Application Number and Password” and ” Through Application Number and Date of Birth”
  4. Click on any of these and enter the required credentials per the admission certificate.
  5. The answer key PDF appears on the screen.
  6. Download the UGC NET June 2026 answer key and cross-check the answers asked in the examination.

UGC NET Raise Objection Process

National Testing Agency (NTA) has also provided an opportunity for candidates to raise objections if they are not satisfied with the responses released through the answer key. Candidates can raise objections from 16 to 18 August 2026, if any, with proper proof to challenge them along with the provisional answer key.

  • Fee: Rs. 200 per question challenged (non-refundable, regardless of outcome)
  • Requirement: Supporting documents or valid justification must be attached with each objection
  • Window: 16th to 18th Augus 2026
  • Review: A subject-matter expert panel evaluates every objection before the final key is prepared

Steps to Raise Objections to UGC NET June Answer Key 2026

To raise objections to the answer key, candidates can follow the steps provided below.

  1. Enter your application number and date of birth. Enter your Security PIN as displayed, then click on the submit button.
  2. Click on “View Question Paper” for marked responses and to view or challenge the answer keys.
  3. You will see Question IDs in sequential order.
  4. The ID next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option(s)’ stands for the correct answer key to be used by NTA.
  5. If candidates want to challenge this option, they may use one or more of the option IDs given
  6. In the next four columns by clicking the checkbox.
  7. After clicking your desired option, scroll down to ‘Save your claims’ and move to the next.
  8. You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
  9. You may want to upload supporting documents in which you can select ‘Choose File’ and upload (all documents are to be put in a single PDF file only)
  10. Click on ‘Save your claims and pay fee’ or, in case you want to modify the claims, click on ‘Modify your claims’.
  11. After saving the claims, you will find a screen displaying your challenges.
  12. Kindly pay the fee by clicking on ‘Pay Fee’.
  13. The claims will be saved after the successful payment of the required fee.
  14. Select your mode of payment and pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 200/- for each question challenged.

  • While matching the answers, you need to add (+) 2 marks for the correct answer. There is no negative marking and no marks to be assigned to unattempted questions.

UGC NET Qualifying Marks 2026

The minimum qualifying marks for the UGC NET exam are 40% aggregate (out of 300 total marks) for General and EWS candidates and 35% aggregate for reserved categories (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and third gender) across both Paper I and Paper II.

Minimum Qualifying Criteria:

  • General / Unreserved / EWS: 40% (120 out of 300 marks)
  • OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD / Transgender: 35%  (105 out of 300 marks)

What After UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key?

Candidates must download their response sheet to check their marked responses and calculate expected marks. Candidates can also raise objections online if any. After analysing all the objections, the NTA will then release the final answer key, followed by the result and the list of candidates qualified in the UGC NET exam.
