6565 Vacancies Approved for RRB Technician 2026-27 Exam

A press release has been shared announcing tentative RRB Technician vacancies for 2026-27. As per the intent notice, for the coming year, 6565 Technician Grade 1 and 3 vacancies in 51 categories are expected to be released this year. This is the expected number of vacancies released after the assessment conducted by all zonal railways. For candidates who missed the RRB Technician Recruitment last year, this would be the golden chance for them, as generally, railways don’t release notifications so frequently.

RRB Technician Vacancy 2026-27

Indian Railways is divided into 18 zones and includes several Production Units for manufacturing locomotives, coaches, and other railway equipment. Indian Railway has approved 6734 vacancies for all zones, and the detailed Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) with complete details will be released soon at all regional websites of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs) shortly. The number of vacancies is tentative and the final vacancy will be officially announced soon.

RRB Technician Recruitment 2026-27

RRB Technician Grade 1 and Grade 3 Notification will be released to recruit eligible candidates for the released vacancies for the positions of Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3. The selection for the posts will be done based on the Computer-based test (CBT), document verification, and medical examination. The CBT consists of 100 questions for 100 marks to be attempted in 90 minutes, with negative marking of 1/3rd marks.

Educational Qualification: For Technician Grade 1 Signal, candidates must hold a B.Sc. in Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/IT/Instrumentation or a Degree/Diploma in Engineering. Technician Grade 3, candidates must be 10th pass with ITI from NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.

Age Limit: Technician Grade 1 Signal: 18–36 years, and Technician Grade 3: 18–33 years.
