What is the AILET Exam 2026?

AILET is the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) conducted by the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) every year for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate and graduate law programs. For the year 2026-27, NLU Delhi has announced 110 seats for BA LLB (Hons), 50 seats for BCom LLB (Hons), 70 seats for 1 year LLM, and 16 seats for PhD. Programs. The University has now opened the online portal for applications from students for admission to BA LLB (Hons.), LLM, and PhD Programs for the academic Year 2026-27. National Law University Delhi has released the official notification regarding the AILET 2026 Exam. The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) has been conducted in the offline mode. To gain admission into BALLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD programs, students need to appear for the exam.

The process to submit the AILET 2026 Application form will only be held in online mode. AILET 2026 Application Fees

The only methods of payment accepted for the AILET Exam 2026 are credit cards, debit cards, and net banking. Candidates from the SC/ST category who live in poverty are excused from paying the application fee. You will receive a confirmation on your registered email ID following a successful payment.

AILET 2026 Answer Key

The AILET 2026 Provisional Answer key is expected to be released by December 2025 at the official website of the National Law University, NLU Delhi, i.e., https://nationallawuniversitydelhi.in/. Students can also check their provisional answer key by simply clicking on the direct link shared below. If any student finds an error in the provisional answer key they are also provided with an option to raise objection against it. 

AILET 2026 Exam Pattern

The question paper will have 150 multiple-choice questions in accordance with the most recent AILET 2026 Exam Pattern. Candidates who want to ace the AILET Exam 2026 in one attempt must take note of the most recent paper pattern.

1. English, Reasoning, and General Knowledge are just a few of the disciplines that NLU, Delhi uses to assess candidates' knowledge.
2. Negative grading guidelines for the AILET have been established by NLU to motivate applicants to perform well on the admission exam. There is a negative marking of 0.25 Marks which will be deducted for an incorrect response.
3. Although no prior knowledge of law, legal principles, or legal terminology is necessary for the exam, the logical reasoning section may incorporate legal concepts to test applicants' comprehension of and familiarity with legal reasoning.

AILET 2026 Eligibility 

To be eligible for AILET 2026, you must have passed or be appearing for the Class 12 exam (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks for general category students. For SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PWD), the required marks are 40%. There is no age limit for applying for AILET. If you're applying for postgraduate courses (LL.M), you need to have completed your LL.B degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD). AILET Previous Year Exam Analysis

The AILET 2024 exam was overall moderate, but many students found it a bit lengthy. Here’s a simplified breakdown:

• The paper pattern was similar to AILET 2022, with long passages.
• Each question had a different passage, which increased the time needed to solve the paper.
