The Indian Air Force (IAF) has conducted the AFCAT 1 Exam 2026 to recruit eligible candidates for 340 vacancies. The AFCAT 1 Result 2026 and cut-off marks for the first stage exam of the AFCAT Exam will be declared by the end of February 2026 at the official website of IAF, i.e., www.afcat.edcil.co.in. The aspirants qualifying for the AFCAT-1 written examination will be eligible to appear for the second stage of selection, i.e., AFSB Testing, followed by medical examination.

Indian Air Force conducts AFCAT Recruitment Exam (Air Force Common Admission Test) two times a year, providing opportunities for eligible candidates who are interested in defence jobs. Through the AFCAT 1 2026 Exam, a total of 340 vacancies will be filled for Ground Duty (Non-Technical and Technical) and Gazetted Officers in Flying Branches. The written exam-qualified candidates will have to appear for AFSB Testing, after which they will be shortlisted as Flying officers and sent for training. On completion of training in flight cadet candidates are commissioned as Flying officers, and after 3 years of service, the flying officers will then be promoted to Flying Lieutenant on passing the department test.

Steps to Check AFCAT Result 2026

Step III: Now click on “Click Here”, and a login page opens on the screen.

Step IV: The candidate should enter their registered email ID and password, which was generated at the time of registration.

Step V: Then enter the captcha code as appeared on the screen and click on “Sign in”.

Step VI: Then your AFCAT 1 Marksheet appears on the screen with the section-wise marks scored in the written examination. Download your AFCAT 1 Score Card 2026 for future reference.

AFCAT 2026 Marking Scheme?

Candidates' scores in AFCAT 2026 will be calculated on the basis of the method provided below:

1. Candidates will be allotted three marks (+3 marks) for every correct response
2. One mark (-1 mark) will be deducted for wrong answers as negative marking
3. No marks will be awarded for unattended questions

AFCAT 1 Result 2026- AFSB Seat Selection 

1. After clearing the online AFCAT 1/2026 written exam, the qualified candidates have to register for the AFSB Interview Test.

2. Registration for the AFSB can be done through the official website using a mail Id and password as generated for online examination.

AFCAT 2026 Selection Procedure

The selection procedure of AFCAT involves 4 rounds which are as follows:

Written examination: This stage comprises multiple-choice questions. Candidates have to complete their 100 questions of AFCAT and 50 questions of EKT in 2 hours and 45 minutes respectively.

Psychological test: A written psychological test is taken by psychologists after which an interview is conducted. The interview involves a personal conversation with an interviewing officer. Candidates applying for the flying branches have to undergo a computerised pilot selection system (CPSS) test.

Medical examination: Candidates must fulfill the required medical criteria as prescribed by the conducting body.

Merit list: The last stage is the release of the final merit list which is based on the written examination and interview round.
