UP PGT Exam Date 2026 Out
Along with the official notification, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has also notified the exam dates for UP PGT (06/2026). UP PGT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for UP PGT Recruitment 2026 must fulfil the prescribed educational and age requirements. The eligibility conditions vary according to the subject applied for.
UP PGT Age Limit
The minimum age for the PGT post is 21 years as on 1 July 2026.
The maximum age is 62 years. Candidates who are more than 62 years of age as on 1 July 2026 will not be eligible for the recruitment.

UP PGT Educational Qualification
The educational qualification is prescribed separately for each subject. In general, candidates must possess the relevant postgraduate qualification in the concerned subject from a recognised university/institution along with the prescribed B.Ed. qualification from an NCTE-recognised course.

UP PGT Application Fee 2026

How to Apply for UP PGT Recruitment 2026?
Candidates can follow the steps below to submit their UP PGT application form:
- Visit the official UPESSC website at upessc.up.gov.in.
- Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process.
- Log in using the required credentials.
- Select the UP PGT Recruitment 2026 application.
- Enter all required personal, academic, category, and other details carefully.
- Upload the required photograph, signature, and documents in the prescribed format.
- Pay the applicable examination fee through the available online payment options.
- Review the application form carefully.
- Submit the application form.
- Download and save the submitted application form and fee receipt for future reference.
The Commission has made OTR mandatory for the UP PGT 2026 application process.
Documents to Upload
Candidates should upload the required documents in the prescribed format. The notification specifies:
- Scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format
- Passport-size photograph
- Required certificates/documents in PDF format
- Other documents as applicable to the candidate's category
The signature should be between 10 KB and 200 KB with a resolution of 140 × 110 pixels. The passport-size photograph should be between 30 KB and 300 KB, with pixel resolution between 300 and 600. Documents/certificates uploaded in PDF format should generally be between 50 KB and 500 KB.
UP PGT Selection Process 2026
The selection process for UP PGT Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages:
Stage 1: Written Examination
The first stage is the written examination of 360 marks. The examination will contain 120 objective-type questions and will be conducted for two hours.
Stage 2: Interview
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their written examination marks will be called for an interview. The interview carries 40 marks.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the prescribed selection criteria, with a total of 400 marks from the written examination and interview.
UP PGT 2026 Exam Pattern
The UP PGT written examination will carry 360 marks and consist of 120 objective-type questions.
The remaining 40 marks are allocated to the interview, making the total selection weightage 400 marks.

UP PGT Exam Centre 2026
Candidates will be allotted any examination centre. The district information is expected to be made available approximately 10 days before the examination, while information regarding the specific examination centre will be provided through the admit card approximately 3 days before the examination.

UP PGT Admit Card 2026
The UP PGT Admit Card 2026 will be released by UPESSC on its official website before the written examination. Candidates will receive information regarding the admit card through SMS, email, newspapers, and the official website/portal.
To download the admit card, candidates will have to visit the official UPESSC website and enter their registration number/mobile number and date of birth as required.
UP PGT Result 2026
The UPESSC will release the UP PGT Result after completion of the written examination. The result/cut-off and candidates' marks will be displayed on the official website after the relevant stage of the selection process.
Candidates shortlisted for the interview will be informed through the official communication channels of the Commission.
