The Railway Recruitment Board conducts the RRB JE exam to recruit candidates for various technical and supervisory posts in the Indian Railways. The exam includes various posts such as Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), Chemical Supervisor/Research, and Metallurgical Supervisor. The RRB JE examination is highly competitive; therefore, candidates preparing for the exam need a strong preparation strategy to excel in the exam. A well-structured RRB JE preparation strategy, consistent practice, and effective time management are essential to qualify for the examination. This article provides a detailed study plan for the RRB JE Exam.

What is RRB JE Selection Process?

Candidates have to go through four main stages for the selection process, which are CBT-1, CBT-2, Document Verification, and a Medical Examination.

  1. Computer-Based Test 1 (CBT-1): It acts as a screening test to shortlist candidates. It covers Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. The CBT-1 is of a qualifying nature, and its marks are not counted in the final merit list.
  2. Computer-Based Test 2 (CBT-2): It is a technical and merit-deciding exam. It includes core technical subjects, General Awareness, and basic computer/environment applications. Final merit is based primarily on your performance in CBT-2.
  3. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates from CBT-2 must present their original educational, category, and identity documents.
  4. Medical Examination: It is conducted by Railway Medical Officers to confirm fitness for specific JE post duties.
