International Day of the Older person – 1 October

International Day of Older Person is observed on 1 October every year. The theme of International Day of Older Person 2021 is “Digital Equity for All Ages.” It was passed by UN General Assembly on 14 December 1990 and designated 1 October as International Day of Old Persons. The purpose to celebrate this day is to raise awareness about the problems faced by older persons.

International day of non-violence – 2 October 

The International Day of Non- Violence is celebrated every year globally on 2 October. International Day of Older Person is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, father of India and the leader of the Indian Independence movement.
