Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) is a state-level examination held to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts for Classes 1 to 8 in the schools of Tamil Nadu. The TNTET 2026 Notification will be released in May 2026 by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TNTRB). The registration dates will be released along with the notification, and the interested candidates can fill out their applications online only at the TNTRB official website https://trb.tn.gov.in/.
TNTET 2026 Notification
As mentioned in TN TRB Annual Planner 2026, this year, the TNTET Exam will be conducted twice a year. The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TNTRB) will release the TN TET Notification 2026 PDF for the 1st session in May 2026 at its official website https://trb.tn.gov.in/. Interested candidates must go through the notification to be aware of the TNTET Eligibility Criteria and other details regarding the exam. TNTET 2026 Exam Pattern
TNTET Exam will be held for the recruitment of teachers in primary and upper primary sections of various government-aided schools across the state. Candidates can refer to the TNTET 2026 Exam pattern given below-
TNTET Exam Pattern- Paper 1
TNTET 2026 Exam Pattern of Paper 1 consists of questions from sections like Child Development and Pedagogy, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. There will be 5 sections, each of 30 questions, carrying 1 mark each.

TNTET 2026 Exam Pattern of Paper 2 will consist of questions from sections like Child Development, Language 1, English, Maths, Science, and SST. 3 sections will carry 30 questions of 30 marks and the last section will carry 60 marks.

Steps to Apply for TNTET 2026 Exam
TNTET Application Form will be filled through 2 stages- Registration & Application Form filling, for which the steps have been elaborated below-
TNTET 2026 Registration
The candidates need to register themselves before applying for the TNTET 2026 Exam. The following steps could be followed for the registration process:
Step 1: Go to the official website https://trb.tn.gov.in/.
Step 2: Click on the notification for registration.
Step 3: Fill up all the required information
Step 4: Submit the form and keep a note of the ID and Password.
TNTET 2026 Application Form Filling
After successful registration, candidates will be required to fill out the TN TET 2026 Application form. To fill out the TN TET 2026 Application form, the following steps could be followed:
Step 1: Log in to the official website with the registered ID and Password.
Step 2: Fill up the application form minutely with the required details.
Step 3: Upload the scanned image of a passport-size photograph and signature.
Step 4: Review the application form before final Submission.
Step 5: Pay the registration fee securely via Credit Card/Debit Card/Netbanking/UPI.
Step 6: Download and print out the application form for future reference.
TNTET 2026 Admit Card
The candidates need to carry the admit card to appear in the TNTET Exam 2026. The Admit Card will be made available to download from the official website 7 to 10 days before the exam. The Admit Card will contain the following details:

TNTET 2026 Answer Key
The TNTET Answer key will be made available for the candidates after the commencement of the TNTET 2026 Exam. Candidates would be able to download the Answer key from the main website only.
TNTET 2026 Result
TNTET 2026 Result will be declared by the official Exam Conducting body and will be made available after 40 days of the exam. Candidates would be able to see and download their results from the TNTET Official website only. Candidates need to secure 60% marks to be eligible for further rounds.
