Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) is a state-level examination held to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts for Classes 1 to 8 in the schools of Tamil Nadu. The TNTET 2026 Notification will be released in May 2026 by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TNTRB). The registration dates will be released along with the notification, and the interested candidates can fill out their applications online only at the TNTRB official website https://trb.tn.gov.in/.

TNTET 2026 Notification

As mentioned in TN TRB Annual Planner 2026, this year, the TNTET Exam will be conducted twice a year. The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TNTRB) will release the TN TET Notification 2026 PDF for the 1st session in May 2026 at its official website https://trb.tn.gov.in/. Educational Qualification TNTET Paper 1

TNTET Paper 1 - Educational Qualification
  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) (OR)
  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 (OR)
  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) (OR)
  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

The candidates need to register themselves before applying for the TNTET 2026 Exam. The following steps could be followed for the registration process:

Step 2: Click on the notification for registration.

Step 3: Fill up all the required information

Step 4: Submit the form and keep a note of the ID and Password.

TNTET 2026 Application Form Filling

After successful registration, candidates will be required to fill out the TN TET 2026 Application form. To fill out the TN TET 2026 Application form, the following steps could be followed:

Step 1: Log in to the official website with the registered ID and Password.

Step 2: Fill up the application form minutely with the required details.

Step 3: Upload the scanned image of a passport-size photograph and signature.

Step 4: Review the application form before final Submission.

The candidates need to carry the admit card to appear in the TNTET Exam 2026. The Admit Card will be made available to download from the official website 7 to 10 days before the exam. The Admit Card will contain the following details:
