Steps to Download SSC JE Paper 1 Answer Key 2026

Candidates who will participate in the SSC JE Paper 1 exam can download the answer key PDF from the SSC official website by following the step-by-step process below. 

1. Go to the SSC Official Website: Visit the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) official website at www.ssc.gov.in.
2. Find the Answer Key Section: Click on the “Answer Key” section that appears on the homepage of SSC.
3. Click the SSC JE 2025 Answer Key Link: Click on the link that reads “Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination, 2026 (Paper-I): Uploading of Tentative Answer Keys along with Question Paper(s) cum Response Sheet(s).”
4. Log in to Your Account: Candidates are redirected to a new login page. Now enter your registration number and password. Now, click on ‘Application Details’ under ‘My Application’ for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Examination – 2026).
5. View Answer Key PDF: A PDF file (Official Notice) opens. Read it carefully and click on the link at the bottom. A new page opens. Read it carefully and then click on “Click here. Enter your Roll Number and Password as per your admission certificate.
6. Save or Print for Reference: SSC JE Answer Key 2026 for Tier 1 exam, along with your responses, will appear on the screen.

Raise Objections Process

The interested candidates may log in using their User ID (i.e. Registration Number) and Password (as per Admission Certificate) and submit representations, if any, which may be submitted online only with a payment of Rs. 50/-per question/answer challenged. The candidates may take a print-out of their respective Response Sheets as they will not be available after a certain time of period.

1. Visit the official website of SSC at www.ssc.gov.in.
2. Log in with your registration number and password.
3. Click on the link reading “Click to Raise Objections to Tentative SSC JE Answer key”.
4. Log in using your SSC User ID and Password
5. Choose the question number and the correct option according to you.
6. Pay the applicable fee and submit the objection.
7. Attach proof for the objection raised.

SSC JE Paper 1 Answer Key 2026 Marking Scheme

SSC JE Paper 1 has 200 questions for 200 marks; each correct answer carries 1 mark, and each wrong answer attracts a negative marking of 0.25 mark.

1. Each question in Paper 1 carries 1 mark.
2. For each incorrect answer, there is a penalty of 0.25 mark. This negative marking applies to each incorrect response.
3. Unanswered questions do not result in any negative marking. It's better to leave questions unanswered if you are unsure rather than guessing and incurring negative marks.

How to Calculate Marks Using SSC JE Answer Key 2026?

To calculate marks using the SSC JE Answer Key 2026, use the official marking scheme for Paper 1 and apply a simple formula.

1. Download the SSC JE Answer Key and your response sheet from ssc.gov.in.
2. Count total correct answers (C) and total incorrect answers (W) from all sections combined.​
3. Calculate positive marks: Positive Marks = C×1.​
4. Calculate negative marks: Negative Marks = W×0.25
5. Apply the formula to get your expected Paper 1 score (before normalisation):

Paper 1 Score=C−(W×1)Paper 1 Score=C−(W×0.25)

Example-

Suppose you attempted 80 questions, with 40 correct and 40 wrong.

• Positive marks = 40×1=40
• Negative marks = 40×0.25=10
• Expected Paper 1 score = 40−10=30 out of 200 (before normalisation and final result processing)

What After SSC Junior Engineer Paper 1 Answer Key 2026?

After the SSC JE Tier 1 Answer Key 2026 is released, candidates should first calculate their probable score, then use the objection window if needed, and finally wait for the result and cut-off to know whether they are shortlisted for Document Verification. SSC will declare the SSC Junior Engineer Tier 1 Result 2026 in PDF format on ssc.gov.in along with category-wise cut-off marks for each post. The final merit for Document Verification shortlisting will be based on normalised marks calculated from the revised (final) answer key only.
