Educational Qualifications
To be eligible for the Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer exam, candidates must meet certain minimum educational qualifications. The Educational requirements for the IB ACIO Exam are as follows:
- Candidates must have completed their graduation from a recognized university in any stream.
- Candidates must have a basic knowledge of computer operations, as it is required in Official work.

Nationality
To apply for the IB ACIO 2026 exam, a candidate must be:
- A citizen of India or
- A citizen of Nepal or
- A citizen of Bhutan or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from the following countries to permanently settle in India: Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and some East African countries.
Number of Attempts
There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can attempt the exam. As they meet the eligibility requirements (Age and education), they are allowed to participate in the recruitment process multiple times.
IB ACIO Eligibility for Female
Female candidates must be between 18 to 27 years, and age relaxation is as per the government norms. For female widows, the relaxations are mentioned in the table below.
