IB ACIO Eligibility 2026: Age Limit, Qualification, Number of Attempts

The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II/Executive. To apply for the posts, interested candidates must check the IB ACIO Eligibility 2026 criteria. Candidates must have completed their graduation to be eligible for the ACIO Exam. The age criteria for the post are between 18 to 27 years. Only Indian nationals can apply for this post. There is no limit on the number of attempts as long as the candidate meets the age criteria. Educational Qualifications

To be eligible for the Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer exam, candidates must meet certain minimum educational qualifications. The Educational requirements for the IB ACIO Exam are as follows:

• Candidates must have completed their graduation from a recognized university in any stream.
• Candidates must have a basic knowledge of computer operations, as it is required in Official work.

Age Criteria

For the General category, the IB ACIO Eligibility in terms of age is between 18 and 27 years.

Age Relaxations

Age relaxations will be provided to candidates for reserved categories as specified by the government. 

Nationality

To apply for the IB ACIO 2026 exam, a candidate must be:

• A citizen of India or
• A citizen of Nepal or
• A citizen of Bhutan or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from the following countries to permanently settle in India: Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and some East African countries.

Number of Attempts

There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can attempt the exam. As they meet the eligibility requirements (Age and education), they are allowed to participate in the recruitment process multiple times.
