What is NICL Assistant Exam Date 2026?

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has announced the NICL Assistant Exam Date for 500 Assistant (Class III) posts. The Phase 1 exam will be conducted on 27th August 2026, and the Phase 2 (mains) exam will be held on 30th October 2026. Educational Qualification (as on 01/07/2026)

The candidate must have completed their graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

How to Apply for NICL Assistant Recruitment 2026?

  1. Visit the official website of National Insurance Company Limited at https://nationalinsurance.nic.co.in/.
  2. On top of the home page, click on "Recruitment", and the page with all recruitments appears on the screen.
  3. Search for "RECRUITMENT OF ASSISTANTS (CLASS-III)" and click on "Click here to Apply Online".
  4. If you are not registered, click on "New Registration" and create a registration number and password.
  5. Now log in with the registration number and password.

NICL Assistant Selection Process

Selection is through Phase I (Prelims), Phase II (Mains), a Regional Language Test, Document Verification, and a Medical Examination.

  1. Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Online)
  2. Phase II – Main Examination (Online)
  3. Regional Language Test (Qualifying only, no marks)

Approximately 15 times the number of vacancies (state-wise and category-wise) will be shortlisted from Prelims to Mains. Final merit is prepared State-wise and Category-wise based on Main Examination marks, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test.

The NICL Assistant Exam will be conducted online with objective-type questions. The important pointers for the NICL Assistant Prelims and Mains Exam Pattern are summarised in the table below.

Regional Language Test

A Regional Language Test shall be conducted to assess the knowledge of the candidate about the Regional Language of the State/UT before final selection.

  • The Regional Language Test is a qualifying test only, and no scores will be given for it.
  • Candidates must pass this test in the specific language of the State/UT they applied for.
  • Final ranking is based on Main Examination scores, provided the candidate qualifies the language test.

The starting basic pay of an Assistant in NICL is Rs. 36290, which eventually increases with the period.

  • Gross Emoluments: Approximately Rs. 63,000 per month in the initial stage in a Metro city (varies by place of posting).

NICL Assistant Probation Period

  • The minimum probation period is 6 months.
  • Employees who resign or are terminated during this time may be required to repay their total salary earned up to that point.
  • A penalty of Rs. 25,000 is specified for partial training costs if the employee leaves or is terminated during probation.
  • The contract states no leave, salary, or pension contributions will be made during this period.
