WB SET Exam Pattern 2025
The WB SET Exam 2025 will consist of two papers. Both papers will consist of only objective-type questions and will be conducted on the same day in 2 shifts.
- Paper 1 will consist of 50 objective-type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks. The questions will be of a general nature, intended to assess the teaching, research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate.
- Paper 2 will consist of 100 objective-type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks, which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. The time duration for the exam will be 2 hours, and there will be no negative marking.

WB SET Paper 1 Syllabus 2025 (General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude)
The main objective is to assess the teaching and research capabilities of the candidates. The test aims at assessing the teaching and research aptitude as well. Candidates are expected to possess and exhibit cognitive abilities, which include comprehension, analysis, evaluation, understanding the structure of arguments, deductive and inductive reasoning.
