Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification on the date of notification (20 May 2026). The qualification must have been obtained following the order: SSLC → HSC/Diploma → UG Degree → PG Degree → Ph.D.

TNPSC CTS Application Fee 2026

Additional subject paper fee: Rs. 100 for each additional subject paper opted beyond the first. Fee paid for withdrawn subject papers is not refunded.

One Time Registration (OTR) fee: Rs. 150 (one-time, valid for 5 years). This is separate from the examination fee.

Payment Mode: Online only — Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI. Demand Drafts, Postal Orders, or any offline payment mode will not be accepted.

Steps to Apply for TNPSC CTS Recruitment 2026

Interested candidates applying for the TNPSC CTS recruitment 2026 posts can follow the instructions provided below. 

Step 1: One Time Registration (OTR)

  1. Visit www.tnpscexams.in and click on "One Time Registration".
  2. Pay OTR fee of Rs. 150 (valid for 5 years). Link your Aadhaar number (mandatory).
  3. Provide SSLC Register Number, Certificate Number, Month/Year of Passing, Medium of Instruction, and Name of Board.
  4. Upload photograph (20–50 KB, "Photograph.jpg", 200 DPI, passport size, taken within last 3 months, with name and date of photography printed at bottom) and signature (10–20 KB, "Signature.jpg", 200 DPI).
  5. Provide a valid, active email ID and mobile number.

Step 2: Fill the Online Application

  1. Login to www.tnpscexams.in using your OTR User ID and Password.
    Click "APPLY" against TNPSC CTS 2026.
  2. Verify your OTR details auto-filled on screen. Correct any errors via OTR Edit before proceeding.
  3. Upload a fresh passport-size photograph (taken on or after 20 May 2026, with name and date at the bottom — height 4.5 cm / 170 pixels, width 3.5 cm / 130 pixels).
  4. Select subject paper(s) for which you are eligible. Choose your preferred examination district centres (maximum 2; benchmark disability candidates may choose only 1).
  5. Upload all required documents (educational certificates, community certificate, eye fitness certificate if applicable, etc.).
  6. Preview the application carefully. Click "SAVE AND PROCEED" at each page.
  7. Make final submission by clicking "SUBMIT".
  8. Pay examination fee online (Rs. 100 per subject paper + Rs. 100 per additional paper).
  9. Note the Application Number generated after successful payment.

TNPSC CTS Application Correction Window

After the application deadline, a 3-day Correction Window opens from 29 June 2026 (12:01 AM) to 1 July 2026 (11:59 PM). During this period, candidates can edit details in their submitted application. After this period, no changes are permitted.

TNPSC CTS Selection Process 2026

The selection of candidates will be based on a multiple-stage selection process. The selection process will include the following stages-

Ranking Procedure

  1. Merit list prepared on total marks in Part B and Part C of Paper I and Paper II.
  2. Tie-breaker 1: Candidate with higher qualification ranked higher.
  3. Tie-breaker 2: If qualification also equal, candidate senior in age ranked higher.
  4. Tie-breaker 3: If age also same, candidate who submitted application earlier (lower application number) ranked higher.
  5. Appearance in both Paper I and Paper II is compulsory for selection, even if minimum qualifying marks are secured.
