Note: Under the Punjab Police revised recruitment policy, direct recruitment to the Sub-Inspector (SI) rank has been closed. Now, vacancies will be filled for direct ASI level, with a structured, merit-based path for promotion to SI and higher ranks over time.

Under the recruitment drive, it is expected that a total of 300 vacancies will be filled for Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posts based on current departmental requirements. • District Police Cadre
• Armed Police Cadre
• Investigation/Intelligence Cadre (where applicable)

What is the Eligibility Criteria for Punjab Police ASI Vacancy 2026?

To be eligible to apply for the Punjab Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posts, candidates must meet eligibility requirements, including educational qualifications, age limits, and nationality. 

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's Degree (Graduation) from a recognized university or board
• Candidates must have passed Punjabi at least up to Matriculation level
• For technical posts like ASI (Computer Operator) or ASI (Steno), an additional qualification (such as a relevant diploma, typing speed certificate, or shorthand proficiency) is usually required

Age Limit

• Minimum Age - 18 years
• Maximum Age - 28 years
