How is the District Allocated in the PSSSB Group D Result?

District allocation in the PSSSB Group D Result is done through merit-based and candidate preferences. 

• Online Preference Portal 
  After the result declaration and counselling are completed, PSSSB opens a web link for shortlisted candidates to submit their district preferences online.
• Merit-Based Allocation on Part B Marks
  Allocation to specific districts is determined solely based on Part B marks. Part A marks are not included in this calculation since Part A is only a qualifying paper
• District-Specific Cut-offs
  Each district in Punjab has a different cut-off mark depending on the number of vacancies and applicants.
• Category-Wise Reservation in Each District
  District allocation strictly follows the Punjab Government's reservation policy: as per category (SC, ST, BC, UR, EWS)
• Departmental Vacancies
  Since Group D includes multiple roles, Peon, Chowkidar, Mali, and others, the final allocation also depends on which department has open vacancies in the candidate's preferred district.

What's After the Punjab Group D Result?

After the release of the PSSSB Group D Result 2026, the candidates whose roll number appears in the result PDF are declared qualified for the written exam and have to appear for the next stage of the selection process, i.e., document verification. In the document verification round, candidates must present original certificates, including age proof, educational qualifications, caste certificates (if applicable), and Punjab domicile certificates.

PSSSB Group D Selection Process 2026

The candidates' selection for PSSSB Group D vacancies is based on the following stages. 

Stage 1 - Part A – Qualifying Paper (Punjabi Language) - Part A tests the candidate's proficiency in the Punjabi language. Marks from Part A. Candidates must qualify for Part A to be eligible for ranking based on Part B
Part B – Merit-Based Paper - The candidate's merit list is based on total marks obtained in Part B.

Stage 2 - Counselling - Candidates who qualify and are shortlisted from the merit list are called for counselling
Counselling will be held on 5th and 6th May 2026 at Van Bhawan, Sector 68, SAS Nagar

Stage 3 - Document Verification- Shortlisted candidates must appear for document verification. All original educational and category certificates must be produced
Discrepancies in documents may lead to disqualification
