JEE Mains (Joint Entrance Examination Main) is a national level entrance exam conducted by the NTA to select students for admission in BE/BTech, BPlan, and BArch courses at the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) across the country. It is also the eligibility exam for the JEE Advanced for admission in various undergraduate and dual engineering programmes offered by the IIT's in the country.
There are changes in the JEE Mains exam. The JEE Mains will be held in four sessions from 2021 onwards. The candidate’s best of all the 2021 NTA scores will be considered for preparation of merit list/ ranking. The counselling cum seat allotment for all the IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs will be organised and managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

Candidates can check and must fulfill all the eligibility conditions to be eligible for JEE Mains. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2021 is as follows:
There is no age limit for aspirants appearing in the JEE Main
Candidates who have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 or 2020 are eligible.
Those who are appearing in their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2021 are also eligible to appear in January and April session
Candidates who passed Class 12th/ Qualifying examination before 2019 as well as those who will appear in such examination after 2021 are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2021.
Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th /qualifying examination to be eligible
To appear in JEE Mains 2021, there are no minimum qualifying marks for admission in NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and CFTIs.
A candidate is allowed to attempt the exam for three consecutive years
The number of attempts will be four in total a year from 2021
The application form of JEE Main 2021 for 4 sessions has been released in online mode. Candidates will be able to fill and submit their JEE Main 2021 application form for papers 1 (BE/BTech), paper 2 (BArch and BPlan). The JEE Main 2021 registration for the April session is open until April 4 in online mode.
JEE Main 2021 will be conducted through three papers for B.E/ B.Tech, B.Architecture, and B.Planning. JEE Main 2021 Exam pattern has undergone some drastic changes this year. For the first time choice has been introduced for questions considering the reduction in the syllabus by CBSE and other state boards. Although total questions in each of the 3 papers have been increased, the total marks for the papers remain the same as the previous years.
