Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2021) is a national level entrance examination and conducted once in a year. It is conducted jointly by Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and one of the IITs all over the country. This year is IIT Bombay is conducting GATE 2021. The exam is organised by the institutes on the behalf of Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India. The exam score is used by different Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture Government institutes to select students for master programs and Doctoral programs. The score of GATE exam is also used by different PSU to decide Cut Off for the interview process. This year two new subjects are included for the exam. The new subjects are ES (Environmental Science and Engineering) and XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Economics / English / Linguistics / Philosophy / Psychology / Sociology. Now the GATE is conducted for 27 Subjects.

In GATE 2021, not only Indian students but candidates from other countries can participate. Candidates who have obtained/ are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India are needed to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

➤ Must have completed or in the final year or in the pre-final year of their Post Graduate degree in any relevant science subjects

➤ Registration: Candidates have to register themselves through GATE Online Application Processing System or GOAPs by entering their name, email id, and mobile number after which an enrollment id will be generated. Candidates have to change the password for the future login purpose.
➤ Application Form: After completing registration, a application form will appear in which the candidates have to provide personal, academic, and qualification details. candidates will have to choose the preferred exam centers which are given above while filling the online application form.
➤ Uploading Images: Once the candidate has filled the application form, they have to upload the scanned copy of photograph, signature and category certificate (if applicable) as per the specifications of exam authority.

There are two types of Cut-Off, one is the Qualifying Cut Off and the other is Admission Cut Off which are explained below
GATE Qualifying Cut Off: These are the minimum marks that candidate should score to qualify for the exam. There is subject cut off also. GATE qualifying cut off will be released by the conducting body.
GATE Admission Cut Off: This Cut Off is released by the individual institutes and depend on the number of seats, number of applicants, category of applicants, etc.

The conducting organization release the GATE Admit Card around two weeks before the exam dates. As, the exam usually held in February, the admit card tentatively will be released in the month of January 2022.
The GATE 2021 results is expected to be released after the one month of the exam i.e., March 2022. These scores will be used by different institutes and PSU for the admission and recruitment process.
