Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years (expect Principle posts) and have completed Graduation/post-graduation to be eligible to apply for the UPPSC PCS Exam.

UPPSC 2026 Selection Process

UPPSC 2026 PCS selection procedure has 3 stages:

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type & Multiple Choice)

UPPSC 2026 Exam Pattern

The UPPSC PCS exam is a three-stage exam, and the candidates need to appear in the UPPSC PCS prelims exam followed by the mains exam & Interview (Personality Test).

Prelims Exam Pattern

The Prelims exam of UPPSC PCS 2026 is an offline mode of examination, with 2 papers in different shifts
The total marks allotted for each paper is 200, and the total time allotted for the completion of each Paper of the Prelims exam is 2 hours
The total number of questions in Paper-1 (General Studies I) is 150, while Paper-2 is of 100 marks.

Important Points:

Paper II of the Preliminary Examination will be a qualifying paper with a minimum qualifying mark fixed at 33%
