Punjab Police Constable 2026 Eligibility Criteria

All candidates must ensure that they fulfil the Punjab Police Constable Eligibility Criteria before applying for the recruitment. 

Educational Qualification

  • General Candidates: Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Minimum qualification is Matriculation (10th Pass).
  • All candidates must have studied Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject at the Matriculation level.
  • All qualifications must be attained on or before 1st January 2026.

Age Limit (as on 1st January 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 28 Years
  • Age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen as per Punjab Government norms.

  • Candidates must be citizens of India.

Punjab Police Constable Selection Process

The selection involves four main stages; candidates must qualify at each stage to proceed to the next one.

Stage 1 – Computer-Based Test (CBT): Paper-I and Paper-II with objective-type multiple choice questions

Stage 2 – Physical Screening Test (PST): Physical fitness tests, including running, long jump, etc.
