Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has released the PSSSB Jail Warder and Matron Result 2026 today, 30 September 2026 for the written examination on 26 July 2026 for Jail Warder & Matron under the Advt. 08/2026. PSSSB Jail Warder & Matron Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates secure the same marks in the PSSSB Jail Warder & Matron written examination, the Board follows a specific tie-breaking procedure to determine their merit position. As per PSSSB Advt. No. 08/2026, the merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Part-B of the written examination. If candidates have equal merit, the following criteria are applied one after another.

How Does the Tie-Breaking Process Work?

1. Older candidate gets preference: If two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the written examination, their dates of birth are compared first. The candidate who is older in age is placed higher in the merit list.
2. Higher educational qualification percentage: If the candidates also have the same age as per their date of birth, the percentage obtained in the educational qualification prescribed for the post is considered. The candidate securing a higher percentage gets the higher merit position.
3. Higher Matriculation marks: If the tie still remains after considering age and the percentage of the prescribed educational qualification, the Board considers the candidates' Matriculation marks. The candidate who has secured higher marks in Matriculation is placed higher in merit.

What's Next After Punjab Jail Warder and Matron Result 2026?

After the release of the PSSSB Jail Warder and Matron Result 2026 for the written exam, the candidates who have been declared qualified for the exam are now eligible to appear for the next stage of the examination, i.e., a Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
