Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack has officially announced the exam date for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test-2025 at the official website www.bseodisha.ac.in. The OTET Exam 2025 is scheduled for 17th December 2025 (Wednesday). OTET Paper 1 and 2 will be held in two shifts from 9 am to 11:30 am and 2 pm to 4:30 pm, respectively, in offline mode at various exam centres throughout the state.

Odisha OTET 2025 Exam Summary

Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test-2025 is a state-level eligibility test conducted to assess the suitability of candidates for teaching positions in primary (Classes I–V) and upper primary (Classes VI–VIII) in government, private aided, and private unaided schools of Odisha. The validity of the scores is lifetime from the date of issuance. OTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Though Odisha TET is an eligibility test, however, there are certain eligibility criteria that candidates must have to follow while filling out their OTET Application Form 2025. There is no specific age limit for the OTET Exam, but a minimum education qualification is required. Below, we have discussed the OTET Eligibility 2025 for primary and upper primary teachers.

Eligibility Criteria for Paper-I (Primary Teacher for Classes I to V)

• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), following NCTE regulations.
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

Eligibility Criteria for Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher for Classes VI to VIII)

• Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE regulations.
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

OTET 2025 Application Fee

The OTET application form will be submitted successfully only when the required application fee is submitted. Candidates from the SC and ST categories have to pay Rs. 400/- and for candidates from the general category application fee is Rs. 600/-. Payment shall also be made through online mode with the HDFC payment gateway

Steps to Apply Online for OTET Exam 2025

Before going for registration, the candidate shall have to read the instructions, eligibility & applicability for appearing at the OTET-2025. Candidates can appear on Paper I or Paper II or both papers as per their eligibility. The step-by-step process to apply online for the OTET Exam has been shared here.

1. Visit the official website of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack at www.bseodisha.ac.in.
2. On the homepage tab on Examination >OTET Examination> Online Application for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test OTET- 2025> Go to Link.
3. Candidates are redirected to a new page. If you have already registered, click the “Login” button; otherwise, click on “New Registration” to register.
4. On clicking “New Registration”, the OTET-2025 page will be displayed.  Enter your name, password (to be created by you), and Mobile No. & e-mail ID, and then click on the Submit tab. (You will have to enter OTP, which shall be sent to your registered mobile no and email ID).
5. Submit your application forms by providing personal information, eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, and address.
6. Click on the Payment & Declaration tab to submit the application fee as per category, and then click on the Final Submit tab.

OTET 2025 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The exam pattern for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is as follows.

• There are 150 questions for Papers 1 and 2 each.
• The duration of the examination is 150 minutes.
• Each correct answer gives 1 mark.
• There will be no negative marking.

OTET 2025 Minimum Qualifying Marks

OTET Certificate 2025

Candidates who score more than the minimum qualifying marks will be decalred qualified in the OTET 2025 exam and are rewarded with a certificate by the Board of Secondary Education, which makes them eligible for the teacher posts in the schools of Odisha. However, candidates must note that the qualified candidates will not get directly appointed for the primary and upper primary level teachers; this exam is just used to determine their eligibility.
