The Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board conducts ASRB NET or ICAR ASRB NET Exam every year to determine the eligibility of candidates as Lecturers / Assistant Professors in state agricultural universities and other agricultural universities.

ASRB NET Vacancy 2026

Last year, ASRB notified 582 vacancies in various posts. Out of these, 458 are for Agricultural Research Services (ARS), 41 vacancies for Subject Matter Specialists, and 83 for Senior Technical Officers.

ASRB NET 2026 Eligibility 

ASRB NET Eligibility criteria include age limit, educational qualifications, and nationality. The candidates who want to apply for Lecturers / Assistant Professors posts must go through the eligibility criteria discussed below-

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age for all posts and the upper age limit for all the posts is tabulated below.

ASRB NET Application Form 2026

The ASRB (Agricultural Scientist Research Board) conducts the ASRB NET or ICAR NET exam once every year. To appear for the exam, candidates have to apply via online mode and submit their duly filled application form along with the required application fee before the due date. The online registration dates for the ASRB NET 2026 Exam will be announced with the ASRB NET Notification 2026. 

ASRB NET 2026 Application Fees

The candidates must pay the requisite application fees to submit the ASRB NET 2026 Application Form. Any application without the fee will not be accepted. 

Steps to Apply for ASRB NET 2026

Interested candidates who are going to take the exam must read the process of registration of the application form.

1. Use the application form link available on the official website https://www.asrb.org.in.
2. In the application form, select whether you are applying for NET, ARS, SMS (T-6), or STO (T-6), or any combination of these.
3. If you choose ARS/SMS (T-6)/STO (T-6), you must indicate your preference order. This choice cannot be changed later.
4. Enter the personal details- Name, father's name, Aadhar card etc.
5. Submit the required documents, Mater's degree, photo, sign etc.
6. Pay the application fee and save the application form.

ASRB NET 2026 Selection Process

• National Eligibility Test- Candidates have to clear only one paper of the relevant discipline.
• ARS, SMS (T-6), and STO (T-6)- The selection process will be based on the marks obtained on Mains and Interview

ASRB NET 2026 Exam Pattern 

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board will set the exam pattern for NET, ARS, SMS (T-6) and STO (T-6). Candidates should check these exam patterns to understand the structure, total marks, and duration of the exam.

NET 2026

There will be 150 Objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in ASRB NET 2026 Exam for which there will be a negative marking of ⅓rd marks for each incorrect answer. The complete details for ASRB NET Exam Pattern has been elaborated in the below table.   

ARS, SMS (T-6) and STO (T-6)

There are 3 stages in ARS, SMS and STO, Prelims, mains and Interviews. The Prelims is a qualifying exam with 150 questions for 150 marks, and there is a 1/3 negative marking for wrong answers. Those who qualify will be called for the mains of 300 marks. After clearing the Mains, candidates will be invited for a 45-mark interview.

ASRB NET 2026 Syllabus

Candidates from different disciplines need to appear for a particular paper for which the syllabus has been provided on the official website. The applicants need to go through the ASRB NET syllabus in detail before starting to prepare for the exam.
