The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is going to recruit eligible candidates for 23 Forest Beat Officer (FBO) vacancies, for which the short notification has been released on 15 September 2026. Interested candidates who fulfil the required eligibility criteria can submit their application forms online at the APPSC official website www.psc.ap.gov.in from 16 October to 5 November 2026. The online application forms will be released along with the notification.

APPSC Forest Beat Officer Recruitment 2026- Overview

To be eligible for the AP Forest Beat Officer Exam, candidates must have passed the 12th class and should not exceed 30 years of age. Candidates will have to go through three stages: a screening test, a mains exam, and a physical test to be selected as a forest beat officer.

The APPSC Forest Beat Officer Recruitment 2026 Notification with registration schedule has been released. The window to submit applications will be opened from 16 October 2026 onwards and the last date is 5 November 2026.

AP Forest Beat Officer (FBO) Eligibility 2026

Candidates must fulfil the age and education requirements set by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission. Before applying for the AP FBO Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet these requirements.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (12th class) exam or any equivalent exam.

Age Limit

Candidates who wish to apply for AP FBO Recruitment 2026 must fall in the age limit of 18 to 30 years of age. Age Relaxation is applicable only to the categories mentioned below.

APPSC Forest Beat Officer Application Fee 2026

While submitting their application forms, candidates have to pay an application fee. The application fee can be paid by any online mode, such as Debit Card, Credit Card, and Internet Banking etc. 

APPSC FBO Selection Process 2026

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has set the selection process in four stages for Forest Beat Officer (FBO).

• Screening Test: This is an offline written exam (qualifying) with multiple-choice questions.
• Main Written Examination: The second stage is an online computer-based exam and has three parts, General Studies & Mental Ability, General Science & General Mathematics and Essay writing]
• Physical Measurements Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who pass the mains exam to be called for physical examination
• Document Verification: After clearing the physical test, candidates will have to present all their original documents in the verification process

AP Forest Beat Officer Exam Pattern 2026

Screening Test: 

There will be two parts: Part A: General Studies and Mental Ability, and Part B: General Science and General Mathematics

• All questions are multiple-choice (objective type).
• Each part carries 75 questions
• Each question is of 1 mark.
• ⅓ mark will be deducted for an incorrect attempt

Main Examination:

• The first paper is an essay writing test, and it is qualifying in nature
• The second and third papers are objective-based questions
• Paper 1 is of 50 marks.
• Paper 2 and Paper 3 are for 100 marks each.
• For every wrong answer, ⅓ of the marks will be deducted

Physical Measurement Test:

Candidates who qualify in the Mains Written Examination will be called for the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Standards Test (PST), and Walking Test. Failure to meet the prescribed physical standards will lead to disqualification from further stages of the selection process.

Walking Test:

Candidates should cover the required distance within the stipulated time to clear this test. Candidates failing will be considered disqualified from the recruitment.

APPSC FBO Salary 2026

Candidates selected as FBO will get an attractive salary under the pay scale of Rs.25,220-Rs.80,910 and benefits from the government. In addition to the basic salary, employees are eligible to get HRA, TA, DA, ESI, Insurance and other benefits.
